|Changes to the Payroll System for the May 2012 RG1 pay cycle:|
Summer Medical/Life Insurance Coverage:The May first half paycycle is traditionally the last paycycle of the academic year and in order to ensure continuous medical, dental and life insurance coverage for the months of June, July and August, additional premiums were withheld from the paycheck for May 25. This process affects 1,073 employees this period and they will receive a message on their earnings statement or paycheck reminding them of this process. Roth 401(k) Program:
We have added 2 new gross-to-net numbers for employees on federal retirement plans 6, 7 and 8. GTN 203 Fed Roth 401(k) and GTN 223 Fed Roth Catchup. Both GTNs are deductions.
New Rates Department of Retirement System:
New rates have been installed effective April 1 for these plans:
Implement TRS Teachers Retirement Plan 3 Transmittal Report:The legislature in June 2011 required higher educational institutions in the state of Washington to offer Teachers Retirement Plan 3 to faculty hired on or after July 1, 2011. This required an extensive amount of computer programming by our IT support team. In the meantime, we have been reporting manually to DRS. Employees have not lost any interest on their accounts as a result in the delay in implementing the automatic reporting.
